'Texas Betony' or 'Scarlet Hedge Nettle' Lamiaceae:
Plants produce bushy clumps with low growing foliage with spikes of brick-red colored flowers. Will flower the first year with a spring or winter sowing. Plants grow 12 inches tall and should be grown in full sun, blooming late spring into mid summer. Loved by butterflies.
Zones (6)7-10. Native from Southwestern USA and northern Mexico. Very lightly cover seeds Germination starts in less than two weeks at 65-75�F. and may be spread out over a few weeks. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best results.
