[Wahlenbergia tenuifolius]
Plants grow 4 inches tall and produce grassy looking mounds with showy, upturned, violet-blue colored flowers. The flowers are shaped like bellflowers (Campanula) and are in bloom from July to August. An easy to grow rock garden plant for full sun with some afternoon shade and well draining soils, keep dry over the winter.
Zones (4)5-8. Native from South Eastern Europe. Were it is found growing in rocky mountain meadows and rocky ledges.
