'Mint-shrub' Lamiaceae:
Plants grow 3 to 5 feet tall with 6 to 8 inch spikes of two-lipped, densely-packed, lilac-purple colored flowers blooming in late summer and fall with an early spring sowing. The leaves are scented and plants look like Butterfly bushes when in bloom, but are more winter hardy.
Zones 4-8. Native from China.
