‘Award of Garden Merit’ (AGM) plant with soft blue colored flowers that are stripped with soft pinkish blue veins. A nice form of Geranium pretense with sky-blue colored, cup-shaped flowers with attractive veining. A little shorter growing than the normal forms of the species and later to bloom. It is less likely to need staking and will re-bloom if deadheaded or cut back heavily. Plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall and flower from late spring to late summer. Grow in sun to part shade in moisture retentive but well drained soils. A worthwhile novelty Geranium for growing in the perennial border or for the woodland garden. Plants sometimes self seed but not aggressively; seedlings mostly come true to type unless grown near other forms of the species. The seedlings need 2 years of growth before they large enough to flower well from seed, some blooming the second year. Long lived once established. Seeds are good sized and plants can be planted out after a month or two of growth. Grow in full sun or part shade in moist but well draining soils. Grows in heavy clay or chalky soils. Once established will survive drought conditions or periods of wetness. Zones 4-9. 10 seeds
