'Alpine Sunflower' or 'Old-man-of-the-mountain' or 'Graylocks Four-nerve Daisy'
A whitish tinted plant with hairy feather-like leaves mostly near the ground, with one or several firmly upright stems with one large yellow flower head per 4 to 6 inch tall stem. The leaves are finely pinnately divided and 3 to 4 inches long. The yellow, daisy like flowers are 3 to 4 1/2 inches wide with large, flat yellow center disks. Blooms in mid to late summer.
Zones 3-7. Native from Central Idaho and southwestern Montana to Colorado and Utah.
