'Mouseear Hawkweed'
Bright yellow, 1 inch wide flower heads. Plants grow around 8 inches tall. Grows in dry exposed places such as gravelly banks, sunny lawns, and the tops of park walls or along gravely roadsides. It flowers from May to the end of July. The elegant, sulphur yellow flowers, turn into small, white dandelion-like puff balls. Drought tolerant, and keeps blooming even after heat a drought have withered away the foliage. The roots are perennial and the plants are creepers by means of leafy stolons emanating from the crown. Not a plant for the formal garden and has a tendency to self seeds, so best for large locations that are difficult.
