Plants have 20 inch tall dark green curled leaves with twisted cork-screw like spirals. Grow in full sun to part shade in moist to wet soils. Under very hot conditions give some shade and plenty of water.

Zones 4 - 10. In cold climates, plants die down to the ground and re-sprouts in spring with fresh new green growth.
