'Prairie Loosestrife' or 'Four-flowered Loosestrife' Primulaceae:
These perennial plants have narrow, linear leaves and bright yellow flowers with five petals. The leaves and flowers are produced in false whorls. Grows 18 to 30 inches tall, the flowers have four broad, sharp pointed petals. Plants grow in wet soils and are summer blooming. Use in wildflower gardens and shore line plantings were the soils are moist but not water covered.

Native from northern and central North America where it is found growing in damp soil along stream banks, in swampy meadows, and in wet thickets.
