Nootka lupine (loo-PIE-nus: noot-kuh-TEN-sis) Fabaceae.
Plants have softly hair leaves and produce blue flowers with white flags. An attractive short lupine that grows 12 to 30 inches tall. Grow in full sun in well draining soils. Plants can self seed proficiently under ideal conditions and will form large, very colorful colonies. This species is native from the western costs of Alaska and Canada.
