'Yellow Loosestrife' or 'Garden Loosestrife'
This upright growing perennial is easy to grow and adaptable but does best in moisture retentive soils. Plants have a long blooming period from June to August with bright yellow colored flowers in crowded rows whorled around each stem. The flowers are 1/2 inch wide and cup shaped with star like petals. Plants grow into dense clumps in a few years and can be 'weedy' if you give them only a small area, grows about 18 inches tall (some times to 3 feet) and three feet wide. grow in full sun in moist soils and in drier soils grow in open shade.
Zones 2-8.
Start with 3 to 4 weeks at 68ºF, if no germination move for 2 to 4 weeks to 30-39ºF, then back to 68ºF.
