The long, thin shaped foliage is silver tinted. Plants with spikes of dark wine-red colored flowers. Grows 18 to 30 inches tall. Cut flowers or large containers, a unique display. Does best in moist but well draining soils, were it will spread-out slowly to form wide clumps. In drier soils the plants should be grown in some shade. Plants can be added with good effect to a 'Black Garden' for its dark colored flowers produced in midsummer and blooming till early fall. Zones 4-9. 100 seeds
