'Winged Lythrum' or 'Winged Loosestrife' Lythraceae:
Plants grow about 3 feet tall with angled stems and pinkish-purple or rose-pink colored flowers. Full sun in moister retentive soils. Some reports say that the seeds can be eaten by waterfowl - this is not very likely, since they are very small. Up-right growing from a woody base, blooming from late spring into late summer. A good substitute in locations with damp soils for the more attractive Lythrum salicaria.
Zones 4-9. Native from the Eastern Half of the USA.
500 seeds.
