'Annual Malope' or 'Tree Mallow' (ma-LO-pee: TRI-fi-da) MALVACEAE.

Plants grow 2 feet tall and have nicely up right stems with good branching. Large white flowers with green 'windows' on these annuals. The petals have a small gap at the base, allowing the green sepals to show. A nice semi-dwarf selection. The species is native from Spain and Northern Africa. Fast growing and good as cut flowers. Plants grow best in a rich, well-drained soil in full sun. The flowers can be 3 inches in diameter and are produced in good numbers.

Seeds can be sown were you want the plants to grow in late spring. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best germination and use 70F, germination starts in 7 to 14 days.
