Plants produce a very dark, wine-red purple (Burgundy-red) colored flowers. Large robust plants with dark green foliage. Many flowers produced from mid summer to a hard frost in the fall. Up to 3.5 feet tall and 5 feet wide. The flowers hold their color, if dried, for use in winter floral arrangements. Most of the flowers are much darker than the many pictures shown on the Internet. Use in full sun to light shade. Zones 4-9. Surface sow seeds and use 65-70F, germination is spread out over many weeks. Grow seedlings out cool (45-55 F.) for the first month or so.
