Baby Blue Eyes
Showy little plants with blue flowers. The stems are decumbent and branching, growing 6 to 18 inches high. The leaves are pinnately lobed. Flowers are bright blue with white centers and they are more than an inch wide. Blooms May to August. Plants succeed in most good garden soils, but prefer those that are rather light and well drained. Their compact habit makes them suitable for rock gardens or used at the front of beds or borders. Can be used for edgings with good effect. The seed should be sown in autumn for spring blooming and a second sowing in early April will give a lasting flower display throughout the summer. A splendid mass of blue from July to October. To have a fine bed of it in August and September sow in early June and when well up thin out plants to 6 inches apart. It does best in dry soils.
