'Wild Sweet William' 0r 'Meadow Phlox' (floks mak-ew-LAH-ta)
Wild species seed. Meadow Phlox is native to low woods and moist meadows in the eastern United States. They can be naturalized or used in a perennial border. Full sun in well drained but moisture retentive soils or light shade. Plants grow 2 to 3feet tall and spread out to form a clump 2 feet wide. Bright pink flowers blooming for much of the summer. Zones 4-9. Sow at 64-71ºF for 4 weeks, move to the fridge for 5 weeks, move to 55ºF for germination. Germination is erratic, do not throw away seeds but over winter any ungerminated seeds out side for germination next spring. Or sow out side in the fall for germination in the spring. Slow -so be patient.
