'Oriental Poppy' Large flowers in 7 different colors. Plants grow 24-36 inches tall and have deep roots and are long lived once established. These are clump forming perennials with bristly hairy stems and leaves. Plants form large clumps by way of runners that can be divided after they are done blooming. Very attractive flowers that are showing in early summer. In late summer plants disappear and new growth forms in the fall. Not hard to grow in well drained moister retentive soils in full sun. Like most poppies, they grow best in areas that are not extremely hot and wet or humid in spring and summer. Zones 3-8. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best germination, use F. 70, germination in 5-15 days. 200 seeds.
