'Orange Coneflower'
A little taller than 'Goldstrum' with more orange to the yellow flowers and blooming a little later. The petals are a little thicker too with a more flattened cone. This variety of R. fugida has larger flower heads - up to 3" across - than other varieties; and it has leaves that are wider and become only slightly smaller as they ascend the stems. A nice selection for the sunny border or even better yet - as a mass planting. Some flowers the first year, but best blooming the secound and third year.
