Up-right growing plants with narrow leaves. At flowering plants are 10 to 27 inches tall. Deep blue to purple-blue colored flowers in clusters at the ends of the stems and in the upper leaf axils. Blooms mid to late summer. Purple tinted lower leaves.
Zones 5-9.
Native from Eastern Asia. Sow in pot and put in a large clear ziplock bag and keep outdoors in late summer or use 2-4 weeks at 68ºF, 4-6 moths at 21ºF, move to 53ºF for germination. Surface sow seeds, bright light needed for best results.
