Plants grow 7 to 10 inches tall with 3 to 5 falcate shaped leaves in a rosette, the flowering stem grows as tall as the leaves and has two flowers per stem. The large flowers are brownish-yellowin color with violet veining. Blooms are produced in May and the foliage persists until fall. Grow in a semi-shaded location with moist but well draining soil. Good for a rock garden and used as a mass edging or clump. Zones 4-8. Native from Southern Siberia and Central Asia including China, were it is found growing in Meadows, forest margins and along streams in sub and alpine areas. 50 seeds.
