Perennial plants with branched stems that arch or are lax growing reaching 3 feet in height. Stems have thorns with sharp hooks. Leaves are Alternately arranged on the stems with long petioles and composed of many bipinnate arranged leaflets. Sensitive to touch- closings up on contact. Blooms May to September with round flower heads composed of many pinkish flowers with yellow stamens.

Zones 3-9. Native from Central USA.
