'California Blue-Eyed Grass'
Plants flower from 4-20 inches tall and produce amethyst-violet flowers,veined purple. Semi-evergreen plants that form thick clumps. Leaves are narrow and linear reaching 5 inches in height. Erect flowering stems have star-shaped, violet-blue flowers with yellow throats. Blooms in mid summer. Will self-seed in an open area. This species is ideal in rock garden or sand and gravel beds. Zones 7-8.
