'Downy Skullcap'
Plants have good sized purple flowers on 2 to 4 foot tall stems. Each stem has a few opposite paired lanceolate-shaped leaves. A showy wild flower with many blooms in mid summer and early fall. Mixes nicely with Rudbeckia and Helenium. Most often used in Wildflower gardens, native plant gardens, open woodland areas, prairies or meadows around cottages.
Zones (4)5-9. Native from Eastern USA, were it is found growing in wooded areas in moist well draining soils.
