Campanulaceae

Attractive dwarf plants, that can spread by means of short underground runners, like some of the Campanulas. Plants grow 6 inches tall and have bell-shaped, white or blue colored flowers that start blooming in June. The flowers often have darker blue colored veining. The foliage is even lower growing and the flowers are produced on tall stems and are more star shaped and upward facing than Campanula species. Native from rocky slopes in New Zealand. For dry well drained soils- best on slopes or rock walls. Seeds are very small so care should be taken in the sowing and watering of seedlings. Best sowing when the soil medium can be kept cool, later winter works well. Since seeds are small do not allow the surface of the medium to dry out until seedlings are well established. Surface sow seeds and use 38-47F, with germination spread-out over many weeks. Keep seeds tray if poor results and try again the next cool period.

100 seeds.
