    Ohio Goldenrod Asteraceae:

This species grows around 3 feet tall and has large showy plume-like heads of yellow flowers. It is one of the more attractive goldenrod species. The clumps can have ten or more upright stems. This species is sometimes confused with S. riddellii, which has folded and multinerved leaves. A worthy addition to a wild flower, wildlife garden, with moist but draining soils. Does well in normal garden soils and is attractive in the flower border too.

    Zones 3-8

Native from the southwestern Great Lakes region and the flatlands to the southwest. It blooms in September and October. It is found in marshes, on wet sand dunes, and along rivers and streams.
