Alstroemeria exserens


[Alstroemeria exerens] Alstromeriaceae:

A low growing species with large flowers, the flower color ranges from reddish-pink to near white. Plants grow around 4 to 6 inches tall when in full bloom. Provide some light shade and a soil that has good drainage (gritty and rocky soils are best), fertilize sparingly.

Native to central Chile. Soak seed in warm water for 3 days, changing the water once a day with fresh warm water. Cover seeds and keep at 65-70F for three weeks then move to 33 to 40F for four weeks. Germination in 2-30 weeks at F 55 to 65F.
