ASTER tongolensis 'Wartburgstern' East Indies AsterThis Aster grows 24 to 36 inches tall with bright lavender-blue flowers that have yellow centers. Plants form bushy mounds with dark green leaves, flowering in mid summer. Pleasantly large flowers, formed on easy to grow plants that grow best in well-drained moderately fertile soils, in full sun. Excellent for cutting with a number of plants blooming the first season. Easy Aster to grow from seed with a fast growth rate. Blooms in late spring.
The Species is native to western China and India. Aster tongolensis 'Wartburg Star' seeds have germination that is spread out over many weeks at 68ºF. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best results.
