[Dendranthema weyrichii] Asteraceae:
This species of daisy grows only 7 inches tall and has different shades of pink colored flowers. Thick leathery leaves in a dark green color are palmate in shape - means they look like a hand with fingers extended out. Blooms in the later part of summer. Spreads by way of creeping under ground stems to a width of 2 feet. Plants are covered with flowers when in bloom, looking somewhat like a short, pink fall aster.
Native to northern Asia.
