So you wanted a large flowering Dianthus for that big pot you have on the deck-well here is the one to grow. Flowers are over 2 inches wide with rich dark with darker (rich raspberry) colored centers and richly painted petal edges. Plants are free flowering and have good basel branching and blue-green colored foliage. Starts blooming around 8 weeks after sowing. This one stands out from all the others. Best grown as an annual. Nice strong growing plants will put on a good display until frost. Here in Minnesota the plants averaged 8 inches tall and 8.3 inches wide, the flowers averaged 1.8 inches in width and were raspberry colored fading to cream edges.
Lightly cover seeds with soil medium. Germination in 5-10 days at F 65 to F70.
