Perennials with multiple stems growing up to 4 feet tall. Many soft blue or bluish-white colored flowers. Delphinium x occidentale is a robust perennial growing from deep, woody roots. Each plant may have numerous stems, which are usually 24 to 80 inches (60-200 cm) tall and hollow. The leaves are alternately placed along the stems and are palmately divided. It flowers in July and August. Grows well in open to partly shaded areas.
