Small Yellow Foxglove or Straw Foxglove (dig-ee-TAH-liss: LOO-tee-uh) Scrophulariaceae:

This is a clump forming perennial species with small yellow, waxy flowers. The flowers are produced along top 3/4ths of the 2.5 to 3 foot tall stems. Clump forming plants with evergreen foliage, grows 12 inches or more wide. Summer blooming, grow in light shade; it likes a slightly alkaline soil. A nice plant for the open shade garden. We have had some plants for ten years, and some live only 4 to 6 years. The semi-evergreen foliage is attractive in the spring.
