Digitalis thapsi 'Spanish Peaks'

Pink Foxglove scrophulariaceae:

Plants bloom in early to mid spring and have branched flowering stems with purple-rose colored flowers that have pubescent (soft hairs) covering the out side of the flowers. The flowers are on long spikes that grow 2 to 2.5 feet tall and are strongly downward facing. Foliage is dotted with yellowish glandular hairs. Similar to D. purpurea, except foliage covered with yellow glandular hairs, thus appearing softly woolly. An attractive perennial species that lives and blooms for 3 to 5 years, some self seeding were happy. Seedlings should be grown out a few months before transplanting out. Grow in full sun to part shade. Blooms the second year.
