Dark golden daisy flowers above dark green-cut leaves. Perennial with leaves crowded into a basal tuft, they are stemless or nearly so. Variable with lanceolate shaped and entire leaves to pinnately cut. Remove expired flowers regularly to encourage more flower development. Site the plants in an area with excellent winter drainage to prevent rotting, used to best advantage in a well-drained rock garden, gravel scree or alpine trough. Drought tolerant once established. Can be grown as a pot plant. Handsome.
Germination starts in about two weeks at 60-68F, and is spread out over a few weeks. Cover seeds1/5inch deep- darkness helps with germination.
