Helichrysum plicatum

Turkish Helichrysum Asteraceae:

Here is an evergreen, shrubby rock garden perennial; it grows into a low, bushy mound of silver-gray leaves that look somewhat like Lavender. Plants grow 8 inches tall and spread-out about 12 inches wide. The small yellow flowers are produced in tight head-like clusters at the ends of the stems and bloom in mid to late summer. Grow in full sun under warm conditions, good for a sunny rock garden, alpine trough garden or gravel scree. Sharp drainage, especially in wet winter regions is a must. Plants can be pruned back lightly in spring but should not be cut back more than half. Drought tolerant once established.

Native from remote mountains of North Lebanon, were it is rare.
