Yellow flowers but these plants are grown for the red-brown, purple marbled foliage. Grows 7-12 inches tall when in flower with clumps of low growing foliage. Different and worth growing in a sunny dry location in soils that are not overly rich. Some self seeding, but not aggressively. Deadhead to prevent self seeding.
Hieracium maculatum is native to western and central Europe.
Lightly cover seeds, germination in 10-25 days at 60-70F.If no germination move to 32-39F for four weeks then back to 65F.
