Another deciduous (The foliage dies in the fall and the leaves grow again in the spring) species that is strong growing and forms clumps of plants with many of rosettes. Plants flower at 18 inches or so tall. This seed produces a wide color selection including many reds, whites, purples, pinks and with a number of diffrent 'eyes' too. Very attractive salverform (like a trumpet) shaped flowers in nicely spaced whorls around sturdy stems. This species is native from moist-open shady places in Japan.
Zones 3-8. Sow seeds in a small plastic bag with some moist seed mix and seal up-and leave at room temp for two weeks, them move to the fridge for four or five weeks. Sow and keep at F 55 for germination.
