Here is another deciduous species that is strong growing and forms clumps of rosettes. Plants flower at 18 inches or so and produce Bright crimson-red flowers. Very attractive salverform shaped flowers, in nicely spaced whorls around sturdy upright stems. This species is native from moist-open shady places in Japan. 

Crimson is a strong, red color, inclining to purple

Zones 3-8

 Sow seeds in a small plastic bag with some moist seed mix and seal up-and leave at room temp for two weeks, then move to the fridge for four or five weeks. Sow and keep at F 55 for germination.
