Here is a lower growing selection of Coreopsis pubescens, plants grow 10 to 15 inches tall and bloom most of the summer. Golden colored daisy like flowers with orange-gold centers. Attractive foliage, long blooming, and drought tolerant. Low maintenance perennial, cut off old dry foliage in the fall or spring if desired. Deadheading encourages heaver blooming, but it is easier to shear the plants in half in early summer to promote dense blooming mounds later in the year. Established plants can be divided in spring. Deer resistant and attractive to butterflies. very showy when planted in groups of five or more plants, each spaced about 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun in average garden soils.
