Blue Grama Poaceae:
A grass that grows on the short side, with interesting heads of flowers, which are held off-kilter to the stem. Drought tolerant perennial. Plants grow 1.5 to 2 feet tall but sometimes to 3 feet tall. Bouteloua gracilis can grow in a wide range of soils, except poorly-drained wet ones. It has very good drought tolerance and can self-seed on open ground. An attractive, long-blooming grass for the border and rock garden, it can be used in a naturalized planting with attractive effects.
Native to the short grass prairies and grasslands of North America.
