large lilac-rose colored flowers on 18 to 24 inch stems, blooming in May. A larger version of the 'normal' shooting star. Very nice. Spring blooming and like the others, plants go dormant in mid summer. Best in part shade in humus rich soils that hold some moisture but are well draining. Over time forms very attractive clumps and self seeds.
Sow at 40F-55F, germination irregular, often spread-out over several months, Keep seed medium moist. Best to surface sow and sprinkle a little medium over the seeds and then seal up in a plastic bag. Keep seeds trays for two years and over winter out side.
