This rock garden plant is more less easy to grow with white, eight-petalled 1' flowers in late spring/ early summer. Attractive fluffy seed heads produced in mid-late summer. Plants grow 3-4' high, forming dense mats of evergreen leaves. Use in sandy soils in full sun. Plants do not like hot muggy summers. Attractive easy to grow alpine species, best for cool summer areas. Good ground cover. They have what I think is also attractive seed displays when done blooming.
Award of Garden Merit (A.G.M.) from the Royal Horticultural Society.
