Pointed-petal Fritillary (frit-il-AR-ee-uh: ak-mo-PET-uh-luh)
Grow in well-draining, fertile soil, in full sun. The bulbs should be planted 10 cm deep. Grows about a foot and half tall. The leaves have a blue-green color, are long and narrow. This plant is good for a rock garden or sunny border. Fritillaria acmopetala has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Blooms in late spring.
Native to rocky limestone mountain slopes in northern Cyprus, southern Turkey, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
