grows 20 to 36 inches tall. This species is a beautiful North American native wildflower with small but beautiful bright yellow flowers and attractive seedpods. The flowers only last for a day each but the yellowish sepals remain, and after flowering the plants have interesting seed pods. It is a host plant for the banded sphinx moth. Best in moist to wet soils.
