[Papaver rhaeticum] Rhaetian Poppy or Golden Tuft

Low growing plants flower at less than 8 inches tall with 2 inch wide, many bright yellow colored, cup shaped flowers over deeply dissected leaves that are covered with bristly hairs. Full sun in well draining soils. Nice in a rock wall or rock garden with 2 months of blooming. Does its best in chalky soils and under cool conditions.

Surface sow seeds, light needed for best germination, use F. 75, germination starts in 5-15 days if no germination in three weeks move to 32-39F for 30 to 90 days then back to 65-74F.
