Penstemon payettensis

Penstemon payettensis is a very showy plant with blue-violet flower in tall spike like clusters on 2 to 3 foot tall stems. Named after the Payette National Forest in Idaho. Very showy in a wildflower garden, it may not be long-lived in the garden but well worth growing for its showy display.

Zones 4-9

Native to northeastern Oregon to central Idaho, where it is found growing along roadsides, on gravelly slopes and in open woodlands.
