Brown-eyed Susan Asteraceae:
The flowers are yellow Fading to orange-red to bronze, richly branched flowering stalks, valuable late flowering addition to the sunny garden. Plants are drought tolerant. Grows around four feet tall and is covered in flowers in mid to late summer. Rudbeckia triloba is ty[icsaly a biennial or short-lived perennial that is easily grown in average, moist, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates light shade but if grown in too much shade plants will need to be staked up. Best in moist, organically rich soils. First year flowering.
Native from New England to Minnesota south to Georgia and Oklahoma.
